The launch party for The 6th Annual Fashion For Paws Runway Show took place last night at The Jefferson Hotel in Washington, DC.
Fashion For Paws began five years ago and has raised more than $1.5 million dollars for the Washington Humane Society and its programs.
"The funds raised from Fashion for Paws are vital to the animals and programs of the Washington Humane Society (WHS). WHS cares for nearly 30,000 animals a year, provides critical services to the community like Humane Education for at-risk youth, wounded warriors, humane law enforcement, etc. As the nation's capital's only open access shelter WHS is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is the community's # 1 resource for help," explained Fashion for Paws, Executive Director & WHS Events Creative Director Tara de Nicolas.
This year, Fashion For Paws has over 90 participants raising a minimum of $5000 (increased from $3000 last year) to model in the runway show, which takes place at the National Building Museum on April 14.
