(Washington, DC)-The Metropolitan Police Department would like to inform the public that the Bike Ride DC is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011. In order to facilitate this event there will be no vehicular traffic allowed along the routes of the ride. The ride will begin at 7:30 am and end approximately at 12:00 pm. Street closings will begin at 6:00 am. All streets affected by this event are expected to be reopened at approximately 12:00 pm, depending on prevailing conditions. Motorists should expect delays during the event. Bike DC is a celebration of bicycling or community and the Nation's Capital.


Street Closings

• (6:00am-9:00am) 3rd Street between Independence A venue, SW & Pennsylvania A venue, NW • (7:00am-9:00am) Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 7th to 19th Street, NW • (7:00am-9:00am) 19th Street between Pennsylvania & E. Street, NW • (7:00am-12:00pm) E Street westbound from 19th to the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge Ramp

• (7:00am-11:00am) Teddy Roosevelt Bridge westbound Route

• Starting at 3rd & Jefferson Drive, SW north on 3rd Street, NW • West onto Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 15th Street, NW • North on 15th Street, NW, to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW • West Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to 19th Street, NW

• South onto 19th Street, NW to E. Street, NW into tunnel leading into Virginia. Note: 7th Street & 14th Street, NW will remain open for traffic crossing Pennsylvania during the
