The Greatest Mascot Dance Routine You'll Ever See

Fans of The George Washington University's men's basketball program are hoping that the team's 2011-2012 season brings as much excitement to the Charles E. Smith Center as these dancing mascots did this past Friday night.

Take a look at the video above, taken Friday night at Colonials Invasions 2011.  It's brilliant, and just might be the greatest mascot dance routine you'll ever see.

Grass Fields Remain Closed Due to Recent Rain

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has announced that due to recent rain, DPR grass fields will be closed Friday, October 14, 2011 for the safety of DPR customers. Poor field conditions can pose a hazard to participants and damage the playing surface, thereby making the field unusable over time. 

All artificial turf fields will remain open and playable at the discretion of the game officials.

Events DC announced yesterday the launch of the celebration commemorating the 50th anniversary of the District’s revered Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium. The RFK Stadium 50th Anniversary Celebration is a tribute to the 50 years of sports, entertainment and special events at the Stadium through a combination of interactive programs and community events that will take place through 2011.

 Events DC today announced a ticket promotion that allows students to receive a $10 discount on any ticket of $25 or higher for the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic™. The discount is available starting Wednesday at the RFK Stadium Box Office, the Howard University Cramton Auditorium Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlet locations. The discount is not available online. Ticket buyer must present a valid student ID with photo (high school, college or graduate school). Limit of six tickets per person.
