Sneak Peek at Eden's "Green Room"

Sneak Peek at Eden's "Green Room"

Check out these photos from Wednesday night's private viewing party of Eden's brand new "Green Room".  The Green Room is Eden's first floor(Eden is located at 1716 I Street in Northwest), that transports you from the city to the tropics, and truly is a eye-pleaser.

Some local celebrities attended the event, such as Comcast Sports Net's Washington Post Live host Ivan Carter and Hook & Tackle Box Restaurant's Jennifer Gray, who were hosted by Eden owners Charles Zhou, Kunal Shah and Vinoda Basnayake to toast to The Green Room's revolutionary blend of nature and virtual technology.

The Best Quick Lunch Spot I've Ever Eaten In Dupont Circle

The Best Quick Lunch Spot I've Ever Eaten In Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is filled with delicious, quick lunch spots that cater to all of the office buildings and locals that walk the streets of the Northwest community every day. But to me, one small joint stands above the rest, because of its unique flavors and incredible options.  That is why the Well Dressed Burrito in the alley off of 19th Street is the best quick lunch spot I’ve ever eaten at in Dupont Circle.

Well Dressed Burrito sits in the middle of the little back-alley that connects 19th and 20th streets.  Its existence is only signaled by the small sign that hangs above a door in the middle of a long brick wall.

Inside WDB, things aren’t really any different than the outside.  There’s a small eating area with a couple of tiny tables to sit and a small counter to order.

"The Best Pizza I've Ever Ate": Foggy Bottom

"The Best Pizza I've Ever Ate": Foggy Bottom

Although D.C. is clearly on the upswing when it comes to the culinary industry, one type of food that is not well represented in this city is pizza.

Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle are stacked with lunch joints, and while you can find dozens of giant chain eateries like Cosi and Chop’t, it’s very difficult to find a small spot with a neighborhood feel.  Furthermore, to find this type of place serving fantastic pizza is virtually impossible.

Until you walk into Washington Deli…which has “The Best Pizza I’ve Ever Ate: Foggy Bottom”.

Until I recently tried Top Chef Spike Mendelsohn’s We The Pizza in Eastern Market, I would have said Washington Deli served the best ‘za in the entire city.

So what makes it so good?

"The Best Downtown D.C. Food Truck Lunch I Ever Ate"

"The Best Downtown D.C. Food Truck Lunch I Ever Ate"

In the first installment of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate: D.C.", I wrote about "The Best Sandwich I Ever Ate" in Capitol Hill. In this, the second edition, I will examine "The Best Downtown D.C. Food Truck Lunch I Ever Ate".

The rise of the Downtown D.C. food truck industry has been incredibly well documented, and the numbers continue to grow.  While certain trucks have a better reputation than others, there really is no one "best" food truck, and obviously, beyond that, there is no consensus "best food truck lunch."  I would guess that if you asked ten Downtown D.C. food truck customers what their favorite food truck meal was, you'd probably get ten different answers.

So, with that said, this is my opinion, and by no means do I claim to be the authority.

Nando’s Peri-Peri Says Just “Wing it” on Game Day

Nando’s Peri-Peri Says Just “Wing it” on Game Day

What is the most popular game day snack in the USA?  Well, we’re not statisticians, but Nando’s Peri-Peri is willing to bet that chicken wings are close to the top of the list.  With that in mind, Nando’s Peri-Peri has announced their Saturday and Sunday Wing specials through Super Bowl Sunday (6 February 2011) at all four of their DC/MD locations. Get an order of 15 Nando’s World Famous whole wings, and they’ll add five additional whole wings for free.  The offer is available at all four Washington area Nando’s Peri-Peri restaurants – Penn Quarter (819 7th Street, NW), South Dupont Circle (1210 18th Street, NW), Annapolis (Westfield Annapolis Mall), and Silver Spring (924 Ellsworth Drive).
