Tackle Box In Cleveland Park Holds Grand Opening Event

This story comes to us from Dannia Hakki:

Tackle Box unveiled its new Cleveland Park location to Washingtonians last night with a grand opening event, offering a sampling off the newly expanded seafood menu. Local VIPs such as Carlos Gray (Mayor Vincent Gray's son), WUSA 9's Andrea Roane, NBC 4's John Schriffen, Capitol File Magazine Editor-In-Chief Kate Bennett, 94.7 FRESH FM's Tommy McFly, KStreetKate's Kate Michael and Luxxery Med Spa Celebrity Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ayman Hakki among others made a toast to owner Jonathan Umbel's second seafood shack.

The success of the first Georgetown location led Umbel to open Tackle Box's newest home, nestled in the heart of DC’s Cleveland Park neighborhood across from the historic Uptown Theatre. Crafted and designed by Umbel himself, the new restaurant shares the same nautical themed decor as the first location. Dangling buoys, vintage lobster traps and distressed wooden planks complement an antique, 15 by 10 foot American Flag from the year 1908. The massive 48-star flag hangs from the right wall, spanning two floors of the restaurant.

The new location boasts new additions and variations to the menu exclusive to Cleveland Park. The signature New England Lobster Pot of Tackle Box Georgetown expands to include a build-your-own option, allowing customers to purchase a variety of steamed seafood in a shellfish pot and a la carte offerings of corn on the cob, red bliss potatoes and drawn butter.
