Forrester Begins $12 Million Construction of First Freestanding Cancer Center in Montgomery Co.

Completion is scheduled for summer 2013

Forrester Construction Company, a Rockville-based commercial construction company, has begun the construction of the $12 million Aquilino Cancer Center on the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital campus, located at 9905 Medical Center Drive, Rockville, Maryland, 20850, with completion slated for summer 2013. This community-based, freestanding comprehensive cancer center is the first of its kind in Montgomery County, Maryland.

DC Graffiti Abatement Team Answering Question During Live Chat

If graffiti has been a problem in your neighborhood or business now is your chance to speak out.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) graffiti abatement team will hold a live, online chat about graffiti reduction initiatives and take resident’s questions, suggestions, and graffiti abatement requests on Wednesday, July 25 at 12 p.m.

Businesses who are frequently tagged can also request to have a free mural put up at their site to help eliminate future graffiti vandalism.

To take part in the session visit dpw.dc.gov/livechat or visit www.dpw.dc.gov and select the “Live Chat” icon up at the top of DPW’s homepage. Transcripts of all chat sessions can be reviewed after the session by following these same instructions.

Victoria Sanchez of Victoria Sanchez Interiors in Alexandria, VA, www.victoriasanchezinteriors.com, was inspired by her own children for the design of Space 21, the Teenager’s Getaway. “I looked to their likes and dislikes, and their wants and desires as I created this design,” says Sanchez, who is excited to part of the Design House but also knows the amount of work that had to be completed in a short period of time.

For the second year in a row, Nadia Subaran of Aidan Design in Bethesda, MD, www.aidandesign.com, is part of the DC Design House. “It’s truly an honor,” Subaran says. “I feel very grateful to be in the company of so many fine designers.” Last year, Subaran designed the Pool Kitchen and this year took on the much larger main Kitchen in this Spring Valley home.
