Councilmember Mary M. Cheh, Chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public Works, and Transportation, will hold a public hearing on B19-484, the Urban Forest Reorganization Act of 2011, and B19-515, the Litter Prevention Amendment Act of 2011. The hearing will take place today, December 7, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building. Government witnesses include Terry Bellamy, Director of the District Department of Transportation, John Thomas, Director of the Urban Forestry Administration, and Christopher Tulou, Director of the District Department of the Environment.

 

B19-484 would transfer the Urban Forestry Administration from DDOT to DDOE. B19-515 would amend the Anacostia River Clean Up and Protection Act of 2009 to allow funds from the bag fee to be allocated for the purchase and installation of anti-littering signs
