Popular Dupont Circle Bar/Dance Club Has Liquor License Suspended Indefinitely

Cafe Citron, the Latin dance bar located at 1343 Connecticut Avenue in Dupont, has had its liquor license suspended indefinitely by the D.C. Alcohol Beverage Control Board according to a sign on the club's door(featured above).

Although it is unclear what exactly prompted the the suspension, which began on April 29, the sign on the door of Citron says that the bar was in "violation of Title 25 of the District of Columbia Official Code and/or Title 23 of the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations", which could be a variety of different offenses, including some listed on the Official Code.

Furthermore, the establishment had another sign on the door, telling customers that they "will be closed for the next few days" because of "unforeseen circumstances".

"We plan to open back for normal business as soon as possible," The note continues.
