New Speed Cameras Added In DC | News
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) -The local Triple A and some drivers are complaining, but the DC government is already counting on additional revenue from new speed cameras.
Better look early if you're traveling south in the 43 hundred block of Texas avenue south east.
A new speed camera is hidden inside that white Chevy van.
Five blocks away to the north that marked police cruiser--he's got a speed camera in there.
Eleven new automated speed enforcement machines are being added on the city's streets beginning today. :
Outside the DMV today, we got reaction from people who had been hit with the $125 fine that comes with a speeding camera citation.
Every quadrant of the city is getting the sped cameras.
The locations include the 200 block of 17th Street Northeast
and the 14 hundred block of New York Avenue Northeast.
Police say the new cameras are going up at sites with the highest number of crashes and injuries, calls for police service and high speed volume.
Also included in the new speed camera locations are the 3700 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Southeast and the 400 block of Riggs Road in Northeast--
