District “One City” to Hold 4th Annual DC Housing Expo Saturday, June 2

From Tim Wilson: This free event is open to residents who are seeking to purchase a home in DC or homeowners who may be at risk of foreclosure. Residents will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with their mortgage company and a HUD-approved counseling agency to work on a solution to help them avoid foreclosure. This event is a part of Mayor Vincent C. Gray’s vision related to “One City.”

Attendees will be able to meet face to face with lenders/area banks and housing counselors. All foreclosure clients must bring required documentation.  For specifics please call 202-265-8200 x 243 or visit www.gwul.org. Free credit reports will be provided, and attendees will be able to discuss ways to improve credit.

There will be over 60 vendors on hand to discuss services available within housing. Exhibitors will include community based organizations, government organizations, lenders, realtors, and others providing housing-related services.

A range of workshops, from homeownership 101 to do-it-yourself home repair to avoiding foreclosure. Even information on green living and cooking economically, will be offered to provide additional information on housing topics.
