Art Soiree & Washington Film Institute Join Forces to Host Second Annual Oscars Party

Join Art Soiree for the second annual Oscars Party to watch the Annual Academy Awards live on February 27th, 2011 This year, the festivities have moved deep into the heart of Georgetown to the always glamorous L2 Lounge! This Oscars Party will be great with plenty of fun and movie magic!!

Art Soiree wants you to chat with them about the extravagant fashions, share in outrage when one film loses and another wins, and join in the heart-warming when a dark horse unexpectedly sweeps the whole thing!

Gather friends and make new ones to rally for your favorite movies of 2010! And...you may even win, too! Hosts will take nominations for "Best Dressed to Kill Woman" and "Best Dressed to Kill Man," as well as award "For Achievement" in Oscars Pool!!!

Guest performance by string quartet Singing Strings DC:

Nakisa Karimian - Simpson (Violin), born and raised in Iran, graduated from Conservatory of Music School of Tehran and completed her studies in Spain and U.S. with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. With over ten years of experience of playing and teaching violin, viola, cello and piano, she has professionally performed with numerous string ensembles and orchestras in the Washington, DC area. Among these are the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, the Arlington Symphony Orchestra, the Mount Vernon Symphony Orchestra, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Neil Puzon (Violin) studied violin with Nancy McAllister at the Wilmington Academy of Music in Wilmington, NC. He later continued his violin studies and chamber music at the University of Maryland at College Park.

Gabe Soloff (Viola), originally from Philadelphia, PA started his studies on the violin at a very young age. He studied violin and viola with Dolly Koritzer in Philadelphia, where he played with various orchestral and chamber groups. He appeared as soloist with Philadelphia Doctor's Chamber Orchestra, for which he was principal second violinist. Mr. Soloff moved to Maryland in September, 2005 and joined the St. Charles Quartet.

Kirill Romanov (Cello), began his cello studies at the Gnesiny Music School in Moscow studying with Igor Dmitriev. He continued his studies with Victor Simon of the Moscow Conservatory and with John Gevorkian of the Yerevan Conservatory. He studied chamber music with members of the Juilliard String Quartet in 2003.
