Hilton Hotels and Resorts Welcome The Year Of The Dragon
Hilton Hotels and Resorts Welcome The Year Of The Dragon

It's a global celebration and there is no doubt that the Washington Hilton kicked off the Chinese New Year with festive fury. Last week, special guests were invited to celebrate the launch of the Chinese New Year holiday offerings from January 23 through February 6  by offering special amenities and traditions to guests at participating Hilton Huanying properties.

What exactly is Hilton Huanying you ask?

Hilton Huanying is a unique program worldwide for Chinese travelers abroad at more than 60 hotels in 15 countries. The program allows for travelers to book participating hotels, with comfort and confidence knowing that the cultural needs of Chinese travelers will be met. Some of these special offerings and elements of Hilton Huanying include: a front desk team member fluent in Mandarin; a selection of Chinese tea upon request, tea kettles, slippers and a dedicated television channel with Chinese programming; and authentic breakfast items including congee, dim sum, fried rice and noodles. To celebrate the new year, properties will be adorned with displays of oranges and tangerines, a symbol of wealth and good luck and upon check-in, guests will receive red envelopes containing 1,100 Hilton HHonors points per guest. Additionally, participating properties will also offer traditional holiday fare on their menues. Authentic cold and hot dishes will be offered ranging from steamed fish and minced beef to poached bok choy and wok-fried noodles.

The lavish kick-off event that took place at the Washington Hilton last week featured the unveiling of a 40ft traditional Chinese Dragon designed in China that performed, radiating a contagious energy throughout a room filled with community leaders, dignitaries, tour operators and Hilton executives. The event also included tasting stations, with traditional dishes including Orange Beef, Duck Confit & Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Cantonese BBQ Pork, Poached Chinese Black Bass on Sea Bean Salad and a punchy, pomegranate infused speciality cocktail fittingly named, The Red Dragon.
