Events DC float makes debut appearance in 2012 Cherry Blossom Festival Centennial Parade

From Teri Washington: Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, announced today it will debut a float in Saturday’s National Cherry Blossom Festival Centennial Celebration Parade® in downtown Washington, D.C.  The Events DC float celebrates the 50th anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, home to Major League Soccer’s D.C. United, the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman, and the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic®.  The float prominently promotes Events DC as the face of entertainment, conventions, sports and cultural events within the nation’s capital.

The 2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® is Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., rain or shine. As one of D.C.’s largest spectator events, the energy-filled parade runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Streets, NW, and will be televised live on ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel 8.  The Parade will be nationally syndicated for the first time after being shown live.

“We are excited to make our debut float appearance during the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade this year and are honored to continue our partnership with the Festival,” said Events DC President and CEO Greg O’Dell. “Our float represents the passion of all Events DC employees who work diligently to deliver amazing event experiences in our nation’s capital.”

The Events DC float will feature international dance music icon Kristine W, O’Dell, Events DC staff, D.C. United mascot Talon, and a drum major representing the annual AT&T Nation’s Football Classic.
