DC’s Own Entertainment Group Presents The Downtown Players In DCPS

DC’s Own Entertainment Group Presents The Downtown Players In DCPS

This story comes to us from Rahima Rice-Marsh:

Washington, D.C.— Following up on the success of their first production, The Airport Piece, which won Best One-Act Drama at the 2010 DC Black Theatre Festival, The Downtown Players will once again dazzle audiences with DCPS.

In this moving drama, students and teachers at a fictitious DC Public High School start the lunch period like any normal day. But, the nature of these interweaving relationships and the complexities of attending an urban institution turn this particular day upside down. The play’s intense dialogue and moments of thought-provoking reflection will have audiences glued to their seats, anxious for what’s next.

Celebrating The Royals!

Celebrating The Royals!

Tiaras, Cupcakes, Champagne & Jewelry

No British weather for this party. The sun shone as more than 40 princesses flocked to the Old Town Alexandria jewelry boutique Mystique last Thursday evening for Mystique's first-ever Princess Party and to toast Will and Kate on the eve of their nuptials. The tiaraed guests sipped champagne and tried on rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings adorned with diamonds, sapphires, and more, all befitting royalty.

Mystique owner Elizabeth Mandros, who is celebrating 20 years in business this year (and her birthday as well), was the belle of the ball. "We had such fun," Elizabeth exclaimed, "It was a perfect night." And her guests agreed. Iris Perry, of Montgomery Village, Maryland, "felt like a princess."
